When to seek evaluation

• Sharp or cramping pain in the flank, back, or side
• Pain that radiates toward the lower abdomen or groin
• Blood in the urine (pink, red, or brown)
• Nausea or vomiting alongside pain
• Frequent or urgent need to urinate
• Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
